Earthy Impressions
An evening silhouettes the day,
grayish white becomes sky
Visions descend on earth
as dotted impressions.
Like a ground glass
it holds back some truths
lets in, faded lies.
This earth was, ever green
eager was its soul
Spring became adventurous
as winter wrapped up cold.
It wasn’t all, sky’s fault
that a monsoon happened too soon
A night silhouetted the evening
Earth carried footprints of sky
Seasons changed again
Morning became
dispassionate and wry
Sky is now clear,
earth, resolutely calm;
working through the day,
it’s erasing etched impressions
