Fabulous Fall

golden rod pulse on a breeze.

A blue bird picks
rubies from the dogwood

Before the winter’s night,
monarch butterflies head south,
asters spread a lilac coverlet.

Corn shocks rattle their fingers,
leaping into a pile of leaves,
golden rod pulse on a breeze.
